I hope and pray you are staying healthy and close to Jesus! I have enjoyed hearing from many of you about the ways God is continuing to do great things in your lives!
As a reminder, we have indefinitely suspended all of our church meetings. Nevertheless, let’s each make an effort to stay connected with one another. Make a phone call, send a text, write a note of encouragement. If we use this time wisely I see us coming out of this time closer as a fellowship and stronger in our faith! Magdalena has been kind enough to set up conference calls for the women of our church each Wednesday at 5:15 PM. All you have to do is call 605-313-6342 and enter the access code 633337 #.
I do want to mention a few recent birthdays: my daughter Faith turned 6 on Wednesday and Steve Tullar celebrates his birthday Saturday, March 28!
I want to pass along an update on Feed the Kids from Bea: “We distributed 60 bags of food to Chelwood Elementary, Friday, March 20th. The school was very organized and had a separate area set up specially for a "drive up" distribution of the bags… Hope In Christ Church has about 80 bags in inventory and we plan to distribute 60 of those bags to the school again Friday, April 3rd. I have been slowly purchasing food because some items are limited purchase per person. We do have extra food in inventory that we are able use to in order to make some additional bags if necessary. I ask you all to please pray for the kids in this program....the kids are truly blessed to have all of us helping provide food for them. These kids are God's kids and we are showing the love of God through providing the food. The kids are so grateful and happy when they receive the bags.......... We love each and every child.”
Next, the head of my Doctoral program, Steve Porter, recently wrote a short article about how we should be living as disciples of Jesus in such a time as this that I think you would enjoy. If you are interested, you can find the article at this link.
Again, please let me know if there is anything I can do for you during this time or if there is a way I can be praying specifically for you.
I put together another short message for you that you can find at this link. In my message I encourage you to be faithful in prayer, for prayer is a powerful thing! Theologian, Walter Wink, wrote: “History belongs to the intercessors who believe and pray the future into being. Even a small number of people, firmly committed … can decisively affect the shape the future takes. These shapers of the future are the intercessors, who call out of the future the longed-for new present…. By means of our intercessions we veritably cast fire upon the earth and trumpet the future into being.”
Will you join me in praying a glorious future into being this week?
