Weekly Update Letter

Hello everyone,

From an uncomfortable prison cell many years ago, Paul wrote: “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:11-13).

The Greek word “content” is related to sufficiency. Paul had learned the deep truths of the sufficiency of God. He was grounded in the sufficiency of God. And no change in his circumstances could keep him from experiencing the abundance of God.

Would you be able to say right now, “I lack nothing”? The more we are able to declare that by faith, the more we too will know the complete sufficiency of God. And we can do this today through Christ who gives us strength!

I am hopeful that we will be able to meet again together soon! And I pray that when we do we will have a new appreciation for being together as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Robbie Price

Robbie Price is the founding pastor of Hope in Christ Church.  He has attended UNM, Denver Seminary, and Biola University, from which he has a Masters degree.  He was ordained by New Covenant Church in 2009.  He has had previous experience at churches in leading youth ministry, college ministry, prayer ministry, and worship.  His wife, Jordan, is a teacher.  They have four children, Daniel, Ella, Faith and Rachel.

More than anything, Robbie is passionate about seeing people know Jesus and follow Him


Bob Brown

Bob Brown has served church fellowships in Texas, Louisiana, Nebraska and New Mexico since 1976. As a Senior Pastor-Teacher, there are two great passions in Pastor Bob’s ministry. First is the message of “The Christ-life,” which teaches the believer that the Christian life is not doing things for God, or religious activity out of love for what Christ has done for the believer, but rather, the Christian life is the life of Christ being lived through the believer by faith (Galatians 2:20). His second passion is the verse-by-verse teaching of the Bible, known as expository preaching.

Pastor Bob and his wife, LaDelle, have one daughter (Dr. Jennie Brown) who has served the nation by joining the CIA after 9/11 occurred. Jennie has, for the past 12 years, been a college professor in New Hampshire where she lives with her husband, Chris, and son, Weldon.

Scripture

  • The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God.
  • The Bible is the ultimate, complete and eternal source of knowledge about God and the definitive guide for our daily lives.

God

  • There is only one God, existing in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God is self-existent, eternal, unchanging, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, holy, righteous and loving.
  • God created the universe from nothing and He is the sovereign ruler over His creation.

Man

  • Man is a physical and spiritual being (composed of spirit, soul and body), who was created in God’s image. However, because of sin, man has lost his fellowship with God and is destined to die.

Grace

  • Grace is the unmerited, undeserved love of God manifested in Jesus Christ. Jesus, who is fully God and fully man, was sent by God the Father to save mankind from slavery to sin. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, suffered and died as an atoning sacrifice for all sins, physically rose from the dead and will one day return to deliver His followers and judge the world. Faith in Jesus Christ is the only means by which mankind can escape judgement, separation from God and eternal damnation.

Church

  • The Church is ordained by God, headed by Jesus Christ and composed of all true believers from Pentecost to the Rapture. The Church is also referred to as the “Bride” or the “Body” of Christ. Members of the Church organize local churches for worship, for fellowship, for the administration of the sacraments (primarily baptism & the Lord’s supper), for spiritual growth and support and for evangelizing the world.
